Free Hemp Bracelets

Well, it's been a rather uneventful week. I hope each of you had a happy Easter!

We had our dinner Saturday night, as my husband had to leave out Sunday morning. So, we had a rather subdued holiday, but it was nice to have a quiet weekend here at home.

The puppies are doing great. We had a bit of a scare, with a couple of them running low-grade fevers, along with our terrier mix, Charlie. But, they all pulled through just fine, and we are all happy as can be that they did.

Charlie is a special dog to us. We rescued him from the local animal shelter about a year and a half ago, then a little over a year ago he got hit on our road. His hips were broken, but he pulled through and walks with a slight limp now.

Our road has been bad for our dogs: the first night we stayed here, our little chihuahua/dachsund mix and truck dog (our baby!), ChiChi, was hit and killed. Then we got Charlie and a chihuahua/rat terrier mix named Spaz, and Charlie was hit, but survived. Then, one of our outside dogs, a basset? mix named Chloe, had a litter of puppies almost a year ago. We kept the runt, Princess, and she was hit and her hips broken in August. She almost died and spent 4 days at the vet's, but she made it. And then our lab, Charm, was hit and killed one week after she gave birth to the beautiful, thriving babies we have now.

Before I adopted ChiChi, I never understood pet owners who babied their animals. To me, it was a waste of human emotion and time, especially when there are so many humans with problems in this world. Up until I got ChiChi, all of the animals I had owned before had been outside animals, so I never got too close to them.

But with ChiChi, I discovered something--it can be a wonderful experience to have a small creature whose sole dependence is on you, whose very life and love and world revolves around you.

To all the pet owners I used to shake my head at and make fun of, I want you to know--I'm sorry, and I now talk the baby talk and generally spoil my dogs and cat.

Charlie may be leaving us soon. He's going to a good home--our friend who is up in years and wants a good, protective and loving house dog. He is every bit that. For him, and the puppies, I have only one prayer--that their new owners remember that their lives depend on them, and that they treat them better than even I could.

I hope everything is alright with your world.
